“Russian Seasons,” with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, announces a call for applications for the 2026 All-Russian Competition for theatre productions based on works by contemporary playwrights.

The project aims to develop theatrical art, support Russian drama, and preserve spiritual and moral values. Its primary goal is to support the creation of new productions based on contemporary works, emphasizing patriotic themes, themes commemorating the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, and family-friendly themes.
Support is provided to drama theaters and professional repertory theaters with a permanent company whose current repertoire includes performances for children, teenagers, and/or young adults (including theaters for children and young adults; youth theaters; theaters for young spectators; children’s theaters; theaters for children and young adults; puppet theaters; actor and puppet theaters; marionette theaters; and shadow theaters), and which are budgetary and autonomous institutions of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation or, municipal budgetary and autonomous institutions.
The Expert Committee of the All-Russian Competition includes prominent theater figures, representatives of scientific and educational organizations, and members of the Writers’ Union of Russia.
Applications will be accepted until 15 May 2026.
